With a robust cloud data platform already in place, we are looking for an experienced data engineer to help us radically speed up the delivery of high-quality data products.

What you will be doing as data engineer 

As senior data engineer at Brand New Day, you will be responsible for delivering data products through our data platform by 

• designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data models using Python, Azure Databricks, dbt and Kafka 

• contributing to ongoing developments of the cloud platform, e.g. governance, scalability, self-service and machine learning functionality 

• collaborating with business stakeholders and our data & AI team, applying a ‘fail fast, learn fast’ methodology 

• contributing to data governance and data management solutions 

• work in sprints with our data & AI scrum team 

What we are looking for 

• 4 years of work experience as a data engineer, delivering data products to the business 

• A solid understanding of the basic concepts of software engineering 

• Solid work experience with a cloud data stack, preferably Azure, Databricks and dbt 

• Experience with Bicep, Terraform or a comparable infrastructure as code 

• Proficiency in SQL and Python 

• Excellent communication skills towards business and technical stakeholders   

• Strong problem-solving skills  

• Eagerness to learn and grow 

• Willingness to travel to the Netherlands for onboarding and occasionally meeting business stakeholders 

• Nice to have: experience in the banking sector
