The Quality Assurance Engineer we’re looking for is detail-oriented, analytical and proactive in identifying and solving problems. They have good coding skills and a keen understanding of software architecture, but also have a thorough experience with testing methodologies, automation tools and CI/CD practices. A good QA Engineer is collaborative, able to work cross-functionally with developers, product teams and designers to ensure high-quality deliverables. They should current with industry trends and technologies, but also adaptable while maintaining a focus on efficiency and scalability in testing. Strong communication skills inform their documentation of findings and articulation of issues and solutions. 

 

Your role  

  • Creating, refining and maintaining test cases and scripts during the SDLC 

  • Specifying, decomposing and document requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria (Gherkin syntax)   

  • Creating integration and contract tests by coding well-commented automated test scripts using xUnit/NUnit 

  • Creating and maintaining automated UI/E2E tests 

  • Addressing technical issues through research, investigation and debugging 

Job requirements

Your experience and skills  

  • Hands-on experience with unit, integration and user acceptance testing 

  • Experience with non-functional testing techniques like performance, load and security testing 

  • Knowledge of test-driven and behaviour-driven development 

  • Familiarity with continuous integration, build and deployment practices, tools and trends 

  • Awareness of current software development strategies, tools and methodologies 

 

Nice to have  

  • Experience with Pact/Pact Broker (contract testing)  

  • Experience with JMeter (or similar) 

  • Experience with Playwright (or similar) 

  • Experience with working in Microsoft and/or GitHub CI/CD environments 

  • Understanding both on-premise and cloud based applications 

  • One or more QA certifications, like ISTQB Certified Tester (foundation or advanced) or ISTQB Agile Tester

Procedure (We will make this as smooth as possible, promise) 

Step 1: Uploading your resume and motivational letter. 
Step 2: Interview online with the QA lead and team lead. 
Step 3: Interview in-person to get a feel for the company culture and for us to see how you’d blend with the team 
Step 4: Tackle a technical assignment that includes both manual and automated tasks. 
Step 5: Discuss your results in an online meeting. We’ll go over your work and your feedback.
