Job description

Finance Transformation & Product Lead

A good plan for Finance is a great start. Bringing it to life? Even better. Do you enjoy shaping plans and making them happen? Can you switch comfortably between strategic discussions with Finance management and the details of a report or system? Then we’d love to meet you. We’re looking for a Finance Transformation & Product Lead to take ownership of our Finance transformation roadmap and translate it into clear priorities and practical solutions.

What will you do as Finance Transformation & Product Lead?
At Brand New Day, we’re making Finance a little smarter every day. Better processes, better reporting and reliable data. And, wherever possible: less manual work. That saves time and creates room for other things.

As Finance Transformation & Product Lead, you’ll be responsible for the Finance transformation roadmap and the functional design and ongoing development of Finance solutions. Think reports, dashboards, calculations, controls and data products. Together with your colleagues, you’ll identify what’s needed and guide delivery. For the most important changes, you’ll also work directly on requirements, gap analysis and solution design.

Your key activities and responsibilities in bullets:

  • Setting the direction. You’ll manage the Finance roadmap and backlog, translating strategy, regulations and ideas for improvement into clear priorities.

  • Turning needs into solutions. You’ll define functional and data requirements and work with Finance, Data and IT to identify the solutions needed.

  • Taking regulatory reporting forward. You’ll manage the application’s functional roadmap, backlog and ongoing development. We’ll start implementing the application in January 2027.

  • Making processes smarter. You’ll improve processes, reporting and controls, with a focus on reliable data and less manual work.

  • Guiding delivery. You’ll work with teams and suppliers and coordinate user acceptance testing, follow-up on findings, documentation and training ahead of go-live.

  • Keeping the bigger picture in view. You’ll monitor dependencies and risks, document requirements and decisions and keep management informed about progress and decisions that need to be made.

Who will you work with?
You’ll work closely with Finance, Data and IT, each bringing their own expertise. Finance provides the subject-matter expertise and is responsible for financial results and regulatory reporting. Data manages the data platform and develops data solutions. IT and our external technology partners support the applications and technical infrastructure.

And you? You bring it all together. You’ll work closely with Finance management, specialists and suppliers, making sure everyone is moving in the same direction. Expect plenty of variety and direct access to colleagues across different teams.

What you’ll receive from us

  • A competitive salary between €5,900 and €6,500, plus pension contributions on top. We’re looking after your future, too.

  • 25 days of annual leave and one extra day off to celebrate something special!

  • The option to work from home two days a week and remotely one week per year (two weeks for expats).

  • An annual learning and development budget of €1,000 to keep your knowledge up to date.

  • A monthly benefit budget of €25 to spend on all sorts of fun or useful things through Epassi.

  • A fully catered lunch on us every week. (On other days, you can bring your own or pick something up nearby. We’re right next to the Amsterdamse Poort shopping area, so there’s plenty to choose from.)

Job requirements

You are someone who brings clarity when things get complicated. You make priorities clear and challenge stakeholders when needed. You also know that successful change depends on bringing people with you.

You have a good sense of what a situation calls for. Sometimes a solution needs to be robust from the start. Sometimes a practical first step is enough. You’re comfortable when things haven’t been fully worked out yet, that’s where you can help turn ideas into something workable. You take ownership from the initial idea through to implementation and making sure plans are put into action.

What you bring:

  • At least five years of experience in business analysis or change management within banking, financial services or a similarly regulated environment.

  • Experience in translating strategy and regulatory requirements into clear priorities and concrete improvements, with strong skills in requirements definition, process analysis and gap analysis.

  • The ability to bring together different interests across Finance, Data and IT.

  • Experience with user acceptance testing and supporting the business through system or data changes.

  • A good understanding of data quality, controls, reconciliations and auditability.

  • An independent and practical approach. You work in a structured way and keep things moving.

  • Strong communication skills in English. You explain complex topics clearly and facilitate discussions and workshops.

Nice to have
Experience with regulatory reporting applications such as Regnology Reporting Hub, Abacus360 Banking or similar platforms? That will come in handy. The same goes for knowledge of data lineage and data management. And if you’re fluent in Dutch, that’s a plus too.

And one more thing: research shows that women and members of underrepresented groups often only apply if they meet 100% of the requirements. Does this sound familiar? If so, we encourage you to apply anyway. We look forward to meeting you!
